This is a Discord bot I made that uses the Forgejo API to get various information such as repository and user information. It currently has some basic functions like:

  • Getting basic repository information
  • Getting user/organization information
  • Getting a user/org's avatar

Some scuffed screenshot I quickly made:

This bot can be self-hosted (for example, to use another Forgejo instance), but I plan for it to have a per-discord server configuration which allows changing the instance, etc.

There is more to come though. Let me know if there are any concerns or questions.

Sorry for the delay in following up here. This looks useful!

I see that the repo says "work in progress" and doesn't have a README or instructions to set it up. Is this in a working state / ready for use yet?

oh sorry for the delay, it seems to be usable now, but with some bugs. though im still gonna continue to add features and fix some oopsies to it until it becomes usable enough. this was due to me being busy with other things.

there has been progress with the bot development now. you can now search for repositories and even with query parameters that the forgejo ui doesn't provide.
